Knox Community Christmas Support

The Knox Community Christmas Support (KCCS) “Sharing the Joy” Appeal provides hampers of festive food and a selection of quality gifts for children and teenagers, to families and individuals doing it tough across the Knox City area.

The KCCS Appeal has assisted 7,521 people within the City of Knox experiencing financial hardship since 2010.

Christmas can be a difficult time for families to pay bills as well as buying food and presents. This is especially true for people on a low income as a result of unemployment, reduced work hours, fragile mental or physical health, increasing housing costs, the rising cost of living and arriving to Australia as a refugee or asylum seeker.

Knox Infolink coordinates the KCCS project as a community partnership. A working group of seven local community organisations oversee the logistics and referrals. A team of over 50 local, amazing volunteers deliver the project, across the four sites located around Knox City.  Over 60 local businesses support KCCS, donating and/or acting as donation sites for the Knox Commuity to drop off toys or festive food items for the hampers.
