Knox Infolink has trained volunteers who can support community members to apply for a No Interest Loan.
Loans of up to $2000 are available to low income earners to access credit for an essential item without fees, charges or interest payments.
What can a NILs be used for?
Borrow up to $2000 for essential goods and services including:
Household items like appliances, whitegoods & furniture
Car repairs/ registration/ tyres
Medical, dental, wellbeing and life event expenses
Technology like a computer or laptop (up to $2000 limit)
Technology like a phone, tablet and all other electronic devices (up to $1000 limit)
Education expenses like fees or text books/uniforms
Employment expenses like licenses or equipment
NILs can not be used for cash, bills, rent or debts.
How can I apply for a NILs?
If you are interested to apply for a NILs, please pop into the office to pick up a NILs information pack (or download via link). The NILs information pack outlines the documentation you need to gather prior to making an appointment time.
